Welcome Aboard!
The Marine Division of the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff is responsible for the enforcement of laws on Jackson County Waterways. In addition to enforcement, the Marine Division is responsible for educating the public in areas of boater and ORV safety.
All members of the Jackson County Marine Division are deputized by the Sheriff with full powers of arrest. The current membership is comprised of seasonal employees who contribute time away from their full-time employment to ensure the practices of safe and responsible operation of boats and personal watercraft.
Equipment The Marine Unit presently has three 20 ft. Sea Ray outboard motor equipped units, a 17 ft. aluminum rapid water rescue unit, and two Yamaha Wave Raider III 1100 jet skis.
Each unit is equipped with first aid, emergency medical equipment, scuba diving gear, water recovery and marine safety equipment.
