The Jackson County Sheriff Department K-9 Unit is available 24 hour a day, 7 days a week. The unit is currently staffed by Deputy Todd Whiting a trained handler, and Deputy Niko, a U.S. bred German shepherd. Deputy Whiting and Niko have been a team for 6 years. The Unit has received departmental commendations.


The K-9 unit is has the capabilities for person tracking, body - building, search and rescue, narcotic detection - recovery, and crowd control.
